Prof. Mustafa Çagri Gürbüz is Professor of Supply Chain Management at the MIT-Zaragoza International Logistics Program. He is also a Research Affiliate at the MIT Center for Transportation and Logistics.
He completed his PhD at the Department of Management Science at the University of Washington in July 2006. He earned his BS and MS degrees from the Department of Industrial Engineering at Bilkent University, Turkey in 1999 and 2001, respectively.
His main research interests are inventory and supply chain risk management, optimizing distribution systems, and behavioral operations management. His work has been published in journals such as Management Science, Production and Operations Management, European Journal of Operational Research, International Journal of Production Economics, Journal of Business Research, and Operations Research Letters.
He has taught several courses such as analytical models, inventory management, revenue management, project management, global supply chains, supply chain risk management at different levels (masters, MBA, PhD, Executive Education).
Prof. Gurbuz has been a consultant to AT&T Wireless, AREX, and RENFE. He has led research projects with companies such as Roche, Philips, Transpetro, Sanofi, to name a few. He also participated as a principal investigator in several EU Projects related to supply chain management. He has been a visiting professor at MIT CTL in 2009 and City University of Hong Kong in 2014.
