Dr. Jay Guo is Dean of the MIT SCALE Network’s Ningbo China Institute for Supply Chain Innovation. He holds PhD and MA degrees in Economics from Indiana University, as well as MS and BS degrees in Statistics and Mathematics from Hangzhou Institute of Electronic Engineering and Beijing Normal University.
Most recently, as Dean of Hande Fintech Research Institute in Shenzhen, China, Guo was responsible for building relationships with government, academia, and financial industry leaders, and for developing sponsored research projects. He also served as Deputy Director of the Monetary Policy and Financial Stability Research Center at Tsinghua University, China, where taught in the MBA, EMBA, and Executive Education programs.
In prior roles, Guo was Managing Director at ZYR Investment Corp in Shanghai, and Zais Group, a hedge fund based in Red Bank, N.J. Before joining Zais, he led the global Quantitative Methodology & Strategy Group at IDC, and held Director-level positions at Seer Capital, Credit Suisse, and Fannie Mae.
Guo is the author of Asset-Backed Securitization: Concepts, Innovation, and Cases (China Finance Publisher, 2018), and has translated several books on finance since 2016. In addition, he has published over 50 research articles in academic journals including the Journal of International Commerce Economics and Policy; Journal of Futures Markets; Oxford Bulletin of Economics and Statistics, Journal of Structured Finance; and Financial Market Research.
